Today I finally finished my Cambrian Cowl. I'm not sure exactly why it took me so long. I love Ravelry, but it can certainly keep me honest. I started it in October. It was definitely a relacely quick knit, I just wanted to take mt time to sew on my buttons. Basically, I'm happy with … Continue reading Finished the cowl!
WIP Wednesday
The other thing I love about felted (or fulling, as I recall it's more accurately called) is how quickly the items knit up. I get to work on really big needles with really big yarn. The base is done, and the roof is nearing completion. So far so good!
Birdhouse or hat?
I love felting, everything looks like something out of Dr. Seuss. the base is done and it looks like the catin the hat's hat: Before I started the roof I realized none of my stitch markers were big enough for the size 13 needles this called for. So I put a few together. Time to … Continue reading Birdhouse or hat?
Starting to look a lot like Christmas!
Well, as the month progresses and the holidays approach, I get more and more excited. Tomorrow we are going to a Tea Party hosted by Eliza's Dance Company. I volunteered to make some cookies to bring. One of my favorite cookies to make and eat is Spritz - the pressed butter cookie. They've been tested … Continue reading Starting to look a lot like Christmas!
Booking Through Thursday: Mood Reading
Do you find that your mood affects the things you read? Like, if you’re in a bad mood, do you tend to indulge in reading that will support it or do you try to read things that will cheer you up? Do you pick different types of books on dreary, rainy days than you do … Continue reading Booking Through Thursday: Mood Reading
WIP Wednesday
Well, I've made it to the end of the month. I wasn't sure if I could, but I actually managed to post something every single day of the month! I've found a few new knitting blogs doing this, and I have to agree with the sentiments that others have expressed. I think posting every single … Continue reading WIP Wednesday
Weighing on my mind
It's a running joke at our house that I'm a worrier. If there's nothing to worry about, I'll worry that I've forgotten something. All joking aside, I tend to focus on things I "should" be doing, but seem to procrastinate them at the same time. I sit and stare at the computer while I think … Continue reading Weighing on my mind
The end is nigh
Re-entry after the long weekend was not too bad. Of course with Eliza's dance schedule, I had to duck out early. I brought my laptop to get some work done. There's no wifi here, so I had to do it "old school" with a thumb drive. Which cracks me up, since I remember hauling floppy … Continue reading The end is nigh
What was I thinking?
I need to remember the sun starts to disappear around 3:30 around this time of year. No pictures today.
What’s new?
Not much. The weekend is winding down, but I can't complain. Today was Small Business Saturday, but I didn't go shopping. I tend to do as much shopping locally and at independent stores year round, so I didn't feel an overwhelming need to jump out and buy something today. I'm hoping to take some work … Continue reading What’s new?
