Babies and Big Brothers

Posted on April 18, 2016April 20, 2016 by Jennifer

After finishing the Antler Cardigan and Hat set I thought it would be nice to make matching hats for some new little ones on the way and their big brothers. I really enjoyed working with the Malabrigo Rios yarn. Very squishy. I've certainly had a lot of fun with this pattern as well. For the … Continue reading Babies and Big Brothers

Antlers

Posted on March 21, 2016March 21, 2016 by Jennifer

I've discovered a new pattern set this year, that I've been having a lot of fun knitting. I follow a lot of various knitters and designers on Twitter and Instagram, and had seen the Antler Hat by tincanknits around, and was intrigued by it's simple elegance. Early this E asked for a new hat, but she decided she wanted … Continue reading Antlers

2/52 New Hats

Posted on May 20, 2013May 19, 2013 by Jennifer

The hats are done! It seemed like a good opportunity to take our second picture: It was a grey day, so I didn't get to take any other pictures, but wanted to get this taken! It's going to be a busy week around here, but we've got some fun stuff going on.

Finishing!

Posted on May 12, 2013 by Jennifer

Yup, it's been a while since I've posted. Could be a while before I post again! I don't know if any one really follows per se, or notices my absences. I have a lot of blogs in my feed reader, and while some are more regular than others, I rarely remove anyone from my feed. … Continue reading Finishing!

Rut Race: Days 1 & 2

Posted on April 15, 2012 by Jennifer

It's no secret that I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the monsters I've been knitting. I love them, but I do like some variety in my projects. When I entered my latest project in Ravelry I realized the monster I finished yesterday was the 4th one. I'm done with monsters for a while. … Continue reading Rut Race: Days 1 & 2

More Monsters!

Posted on April 1, 2012 by Jennifer

So, as I stated in my last post, E and her teacher thought it would be great if I could knit a monster for her science teacher's new little girl. I do love making these little monsters, so it wasn't a tough sell. I did think it was time to change up patterns, so I … Continue reading More Monsters!

Monster Mania

Posted on March 19, 2012 by Jennifer

As soon as E saw the Iris the Gourmet Monster I was making for her ski coach, she made it pretty clear that she would like one too. So, what does one do? Thinking it through: 1) I had a ball knitting the first one 2) I had an extra skein of yarn 3) She … Continue reading Monster Mania

Crochet?! Design?!

Posted on March 4, 2012 by Jennifer

A few weeks ago we hosted the Williams Carnival Alpine events at our local mountain. The carnival is always a great chance to see some fantastic skiing. What I didn't expect was to see some fun fiber-work as well! As I saw the racers at lunch time I noticed a few of the girls were … Continue reading Crochet?! Design?!

A visitor at the office

Posted on January 20, 2012January 20, 2012 by Jennifer

Someone came to visit my office this week. After meeting the people he came to see, he decided to hang in the library. Somehow he managed to miss his ride to lunch. Fortunately he wasn't too disappointed, and had tea with us in the afternoon.

Happy Holidays!

Posted on December 26, 2011December 26, 2011 by Jennifer

The bird houses were a huge hit. My mother in law loved them! She hung them up in the kitchen right away: She thinks they'll be perfect for wren houses, so she's saving them for Spring before they go outside. We had a wonderful holiday. We started with Hanukkah on Friday: And Hanukkah is not … Continue reading Happy Holidays!
