Bonus Fiber Day

Today I got to play a bit of hookie from chores and took off for Springfield to go to the New England Fiber Festival with my mother-in-law and a friend of hers. I had two goals for my trip – some buttons and a trip to Spunky Eclectic’s booth to say hi to Amy & Jessica and get a new project bag.

Well, no luck on the buttons. I looked at a lot, but none jumped out at me. On the way to the show, I checked Twitter, and learned that while Jessalu’s bags would be in the booth, she wouldn’t be. Understandable – I can only imagine how hard it can be to spend so much time away from home when there is so much to do and it can’t get done when you aren’t there. As frustrating as it can be to work for someone else, I think that those who work for themselves have the toughest bosses.

I did stop by the booth, but Amy was busy talking, so I didn’t say hi (and I have to admit, I did get overwhelmed with shyness). Instead I picked out a bag. I thought hard about the Van Gogh Starry Night print, but found myself drawn to the giraffes:

I’ve already put my current small project into it.

As I looked around the booth, something caught my eye. Last year, Amy had tweeted pictures of some cups she was making, perhaps it was even for this show last year. I loved them then. So, tucked on a shelf today I was very excited to find:

I double checked before I paid that Amy had indeed made it. I’m so excited to have a new tea cup tomorrow!

I did pick up some other things, and saw a few animals, but I’ll save that for later this week.
