I finished it. I started this in May, but wound up putting it aside for two baby blankets, four pairs of socks, and a moebius scarf which had to be done. Well one pair of socks was for fun, but I wanted to wear them.
Project details:
Pattern: Cutaway by Bonne Marie Burns
Yarn: Berocco Ultra Alpaca in the Marsh Mix Colorway
Needles: 3.25 mm and 3.75 mm
Notes:
I loved this pattern. It was easy to read, any confusion was truly on my part. I could definitely have knit this much faster if I hadn’t been distracted by other things, and while I’m not one to knit a pattern twice, as I sit here wearing it today, I can see myself making myself a second cutaway.
My one modification was to seam the shoulders first and then pick up the stitches for the ribbing. I’m not a big fan of finishing, so I thought this may be better for how I work. It did work better for me.
I have to admit I questioned my sizing, but tried to trust the measurements, knowing that I tend to make HUGE sweaters for myself, and after I put it on, I was very glad I did!
Happy new year to you, too! Just so you know, I’m no longer updating my Blogger blog, but I am keeping the one on WordPress updated. I just didn’t want to announce the end of the Blogger blog–or the new address–too publicly on the blog itself.
Oh, and I meant to say, your sweater looks lovely! This is one you can wear all the time. Great job!!
What a great-looking cardi. That’s going to be a garment you’ll wear and wear and …..
Great job! It’s a really pretty, and practical sweater.
